In the summer of 2008 Tom with several members of the Rochester Rec Diving Club searched Lake Ontario for the remains of the ship Emery that left the Port of Charlotte for Kingston, Ontario with 40,000 tons of bituminous coal. The club recently received permits from NY State allowing it to bring up specific artifacts for eventual display at the Heritage Square Museum in Ontario, New York in Wayne County.
