Dale Cannon Jr., M.D., FACC, earned his medical degree and cardiology fellowship from Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina, where he was a second honor graduate. His internal medicine residency was fulfilled at Barnes Hospital in Saint Louis, Missouri, where he was chief resident. Prior to joining Piedmont Heart of Jasper, Dr. Cannon was in private practice at McLeod Cardiology Associates in Sumter, South Carolina for four years. Previous to that, he was an active medical staff member at Tuomey Regional Medical Center in Sumter, South Carolina where he was Director of Cardiac Catheterization and Medical Director of Cardiac Rehabilitation for 10 years. Dr. Cannon is board certified in general and nuclear cardiology and a former president of the American Heart Association Mid-Atlantic Affiliate. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology, a fellow of the Society of Cardiac Angiography and Intervention, a member of the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology and a founding member of the Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography. In his spare time, Dr. Cannon enjoys exploring the North Georgia Mountains where he resides. Dr. Cannon welcomes new patients and accepts most insurance plans.
